End of August Update

Image
I can't believe this month is already over! Lots of things have happened this month, I have began working on my graduate school applications, started the transfer process to go back to my home store, and have caught up with some old friends along the way.   I went back to UD to have a picnic on ArtStreet before I went to mass with a friend I had met as an undergrad there! I also started to apply for grad school, and will be working on my application throughout the fall. I am very excited for grad school because I know the experiences and opportunities I will have there will get me the career I desire to have in the future. Hopefully with this master's degree, I can be a health educator for various populations someday, such as college students, marginalized populations, etc.  Last Friday, I also went to the Dayton volleyball game and was able to catch up with one of my old supervisors! I was glad to go, as I missed how fun and electric the college volleyball atmosph...

Update #4

What an amazing two weeks it's been! After my visit to OSU, I said goodbye to a dear friend and coworker of mine who moved all the way back to Washington state. He served as both my fellow barista and supervisor, and enabled me to be a better partner, person and even a better Catholic. I'll miss seeing him and getting to joke around with him at work.  I also went to 2nd Street Market (becoming one of my favorite new places) both weekends in a row and absolutely loved it! Two weekends ago, I had the best Gluten Free/Vegan donuts I could find (kudos to Monster Baby Donuts) and last weekend, I tried Boba for the first time and had my favorite chocolate bar from a vendor I had found by going to my school.  On Sunday, after I went to the 2nd Street Market, I went to the Dayton Dragons game! It was a good time and a big win! And finally, I am writing this blog post inside a Barnes and Noble cafe, something I'm glad to be able to get to check out after so long.  I hope yo...

Grad School Visiting and Barista Working!

Image
This past week, I went kayaking with my family, and we ended up going to a good pizza place after last Thursday. On Saturday, I went to go see my cousin at a play he was performing at and also saw the Barbie movie. I thought the Barbie movie was very inspiring and After the movie, I went and ordered a Barbie frap to conclude my Barbie experience. I was not impressed with the frap, but if you want a summery, Barbie themed drink, get a blended mango dragonfruit lemonade with extra strawberry puree! It's a good beverage and it'll give you a taste of summer too (and, it's barista recommended by me, which is even better!).  On Wednesday of this week, I played in the Flyer Pep Band as apart of the TBT tournament, and I'm very happy to have finally had the experience of playing in the pep band. It was not the outcome we had expected, but I still had a great time! Yesterday (Thursday), I went on a grad school visit to THE Ohio State University's College of Public Health. ...

Another Great Summer Week!

This week and last week have definitely been two of some adventurous weeks. Last week, I left my job at Planet Fitness to pursue my job at Starbucks but as a full-time barista, and that is something I am very glad I did. It was something that did not unfortunately work out for me, and that's okay because I'm choosing to stay positive as I know other opportunities are going to be there for me. Making coffee has been a hobby I've developed since I've started working at Starbucks so I'm excited to continue doing so. :)  I started reading a book that I love, The Paris Library by Janet Skeslien Charles, and I've been reading outside which has been super enjoyable. It's definitely going to become one of my favorite books.  I also went to one of my favorite smoothie food truck, the Wild Banana, since they were near me and had a very delicious smoothie bowl on Sunday. I had them first as a UD student since they came to campus and I've loved them ever since, eve...

Welcome!

Welcome to my very first blog post! I decided to create a blog as I am going through a career transition right now and figured since I am going to only be doing 1 full-time job, I'd fit more fun things into my schedule.  It has been quite the first two months of post-grad life, and I'm excited to have more fun and create an even more unique experience with this blog. I will be going from 2 jobs to 1, applying to grad school, exploring what's around me and soo much more! Absolutely can't wait to document it all through this blog! I'm excited to document all of my life adventures and experiences via blog. I'll try to post weekly, bi-weekly or whenever, so sit back, relax and enjoy the fun!
